Life as a fine art photographer has taken Don Schimmel to the four corners of the globe, and has put him in a variety of interesting situations. This exposure to the world reflected in the breadth of the vast inventory of images he has captured during his travels. His latest endeavor brought him back home to the American west. Shooting with color and black & white film, Schimmel travels with a variety of equipment ranging from Linhof Technika 4x5, Mamiya RZ76, Noblex panoramic 6x12 and 6x17, to his work in the field with a Canon EOS 3 for 35mm. Schimmel's work encompasses imagery of stunning panoramic landscapes; abstract nature studies, to the life and world of the working cowboy. These images continue to be an inspiration whether printed in dramatic color, black & white, or sepia-tone prints. www.donschimmelphotography.com
